The collection of magicians, onlookers and mystified commoners gathering night after night to see the stars seeming fall from the sky had grown. Those who know of such things saw them start eariler in the week, and rather than peeking, they have only grown stronger. Not even the elders could remember such a shower, one that lasted as long as this. At this rate it may last throughout the month.
It has been heard from one of the House of the Stars most respected magicians, "I think there may be a period of strength, from the 25th day of the 4th month, through to the month's close. Strange happenings may occur."

As Dervite' heads off for yet another long night at the lab the he notices something strange in the sky above. Dervite' sits and ponders this new Cosmic Revelation. It brings old memories quickly to his mind:
Dervite recalls his time at a small trade camp near the town of Tranquility. It was here that he had last witnessed a disturbance in the sky such as this one.
Looking to the man who spoke up:
"I have seen this type of thing before. If you listen I will tell all my story"
Noticing that his words have not fallen on deaf ears Dervite begins...
"Late the first morning I awoke to hear the town at high alert. quickly I dressed and grabbed my bags running for the door. Word spread quickly through the town that the time had come and the 300 year meteor was due to strike tonight. Knowing nothing of this I quickly ran off to the celestial guild of the near by city."
Dervite' pulls out some of his finely juiced apple and takes a drink.
"There I found out about the legend of a rock that had fallen from the sky every 300 years. This stone was no ordinary rock for it would bring forth with it all manors of undead. Quickly I ran back to town to tell of what I found out"
Looking to the crowd that was gathered Dervite' continues:
"Later that night all who were gathered set out on an important mission to capture the fallen rock. Someone had the bright Idea to go to the crash site before the rock falls so we do. Thinking we would be protected we all stepped inside a circle of power and waited for the impact. When the rock did land the force of the wind ripped through the circle tossing all of us around like a bunch of rag dolls. We all thought the worst was over."
Holding here for dramatic effect...
"What fools we were."
Here Dervite waits to see if anyone wants to hear more of the story.

As Sahan Sits by and listens to Dervites story he becomes even more appearintly worried.
"Yeah this sounds familiar........"
Sahan goes back on his memories of the war that had ensued because of that rock.
"It would be nice if something happened that didnt completely screw us over for once. Maybe instead of destroying us something out there could throw us a bone for once and help us turn the tide of everything that going on...... Between the Undead and the weird dwarf things in Whitestone and not to mention the brood that could possibly be around......Might be nice if some event happened that didnt screw us over huh?"
Sahan sighs heavily and continues on.
"But then again if things like that didnt happen there wouldnt be any need any need for adventurers would there?"
Sahan becomes even more glum as he finishes that sentence and continues watching the Star shower while listening to dervites story.

The past several nights he had neglected to take any real time to himself, having since occupied himself with a number of political necessities as well as some research into his own endeavors. This evening, however, he had decided to take a short walk and see what all the fuss was about with the apparent celestial culmination. He had approached the gathering spot just as Dervite was concluding his story. He quietly stood amongst the crowd, politely listening as he finished. For a moment, he turned quickly to Sahan, surprised to see him having thought he left. Yet, he did not speak on it. Instead, he smiled and gave a greeting nod before turning his attention back to Dervite, then to Sahan again as he spoke his peice.
As he listened he felt an eerie shiver run the length of his spine and slowly he felt a sharp pain, as if from inside of his ear. He winced and cupped his ear for a moment, as he grimaced and shook off the pain. He gently massaged his temples for a moment before looking back up in time to hear Sahan's concluding rhetoric. He looked back to Dervite then and spoke.
"I don't mean to interrupt, but I happened to catch a bit of your tale there...I wondered where exactly this town of yours was? And when did you say this happened? I hadn't considered it, but if my suppositions proove correct, this event could prove more hazardous than I anticipated..."
He trails off then and looks intently to Dervite for whatever response he might give.

Nodding to Talon Dervite smiles slightly as he notices that Sahan has not fled the town as of yet. Dervite now turns his attention to his Lordship Jean Witton.
"The location of my story was a small trade camp near the town of Tranquility, a slimy little town run by the local thieves guild. It is a few weeks travel to the east from here. So where was I..."
Dervite searches his mind to see what part of the story he left off with moments later he continues.
"After being tossed about like a rag the few of us that were still alive tended the wounds of all that went. Many were dying so we had to act quickly I pulled out my alchemy and started poring. First of course was the healers so I could have some help healing everyone. Moments later we were all up and rushing to the rock."
"We could all see the undead minions coming over the craters edge attempting to claim this rock so we knew we must hurry. It took six of us just to lift the rock and even the act of touching it harmed the very spirit of those unfortunate enough to carry this stone. The undead were relentless and we all feared the worst, there was no way we could run from these monsters while carrying such a heavy burden."
Again Dervite' takes a drink...
"The fight for salvation was on and many were falling. So many fell that the healers were overwhelmed and then the unthinkable happened. The power of the rock flowed through any who died instantly raising them as undead now we were forced to fight even ourselves. Quick thinking and quicker stabbing cleared a path for the bearers of the rock to take it to our camp. Not a second to soon we safe in the guild building behind their ward."
Examining the expressions on the crowd before he continues.
"What were we to do the undead kept coming and now we were trapped in the guild with the beacon of chaos energy rock. A plan was needed desperately so we sat down to think."

He pauses for a moment and considers a few things. Failing to understand when this may have happened, he begins to dismiss it as having any relevance to the strange boulder which decimated the small hamlet he was raised in. He tucks the thought away, back to where it's been stored since he was claimed by the Witton bloodline. One day, he told himself, he'd look back into it...find out what it was about the stone that had such adverse effects on his mental state. Untill then, however, there were more pressing concerns...Matters which concerned more than just himself. So, he smiled to himself, gazed above at the celestial opera, and listened on as Dervite continued his tale.

"As quickly as the meteor had plummeted to tyrra the thought entered our minds. If this rock returns every 300 years someone would have to know about what happened to the last one. A small group of us fought our was through the undead horde to get to the town. There we found several very old scholars who had not only knew about the last rock that fell they had been studying this thing for many years. Just that year they had found a formal ritual that would Destroy the rock permanently."
Yet another drink of Juice.
"The ritual was long and complex and needed a very set list of components to be completed. Some of the harder components to get were things like Essence of a Greater fire elemental, Drake claws, the heart of a master Lich, and of course the tail feather of the Phoenix. Although the stories of attaining each of these is also a great one I will spare you the details for now. Unless anyone wants to hear them."
Quickly scanning the crowd for any who would speak up.
"The one thing they almost forgot to tell us was one of the worst things on the list. It was the remaining fragment of the meteor that landed here 300 years before. As luck would have it we found the bearer of this peace rather easily. It was being held by an Undead Death knight and protected by his minions. It was here that my story takes on a gruesome seen. As we were busy tracking down this lead the rock back in the town was captured by the undead. Quickly we gave chase to reclaim the rock."
"What happened at this point is lost to me for after I resurrected I was told that it did not go well and I was killed by a rather large death knight. Although it was also a lucky brake for all of us for upon the undeads killing blow of my body a rush of energy enveloped his for utterly destroying it where he stood. They also reported to me that it was this that save the people there unfortunately when I arose as an undead do to the power of the rock it took them too long to take me down and my body crumbled."

"I was lucky to have resurrected at all but that still doesn't mean I was happy about such a thing. For my sacrifice in the battle the people of the town awarded me with the one and only magical item that was found on that mission. It was a rather small trinket but it had its uses."
Still he drinks his juiced apple calmly as his tale goes on.
"Now was the time to go we knew where the last rock was and who had it so we hurried off to a battle we were certain to lose. In the middle of a graveyard stood the death knight with the rock strapped unto his back. He had with him some of the vilest types of undead imaginable including a banshee. Her screams of death were heard from miles around and while the undead possessed the rock they could simply touch it and regain all their skills from the day. This was not good."
"The time had come to pull out all the stops and each person there used every massive attack they were able to perform but still the undead stood. It took over an hour to finally win the day and reclaim the rock we had gone after. It was well worth the effort once we found out what it does. It seems this rock could completely replenish all skills of whomever touched it several times a day. This posed a great problem with the things to come for it was now greed that we were fighting. In order to get rid of the new stone we would have to destroy the old one."

"It is a sad day on tyrra when the worth of one item makes people think twice about using it to save Tyrra. Don't they realize that is Tyrra is destroyed the pathetic Items everyone is so obsessed over would also be lost."
Letting that sink in for a moment Dervite' continues:
"So after a week of searching for the specific components we finally had enough to do the ritual."
