Jaiden is walking out of the city walls, and walks through the fields. He hadn't been out here since he arrived here about 3 weeks ago. He takes in a deep breath, clearing his mind of all that has happened to him over these last few weeks. He thinks to himself all sorts of thoughts: about his life here, about his life in general, about his life back at home, about the townspeople here (the thought made him wince), and about the creatures which attacked the town on the day he arrived.
Jaiden watched an owl fly down and snatch a smaller bird, which made his thoughts then wander to the natural order of things, and the way his magics are supposed to work, as opposed to now during these celestial outbreaks in the sky.
A gentle wind blew across the grass, which made his thoughts wander to the good things he's helped bring about.
The wind stopped blowing, which reminded him that his effotrs only brought temporary redemption.
Jaiden sighed at the seeming futility of the things he's done, realising that his work will only be undone by more creatures; more undead. And after he's failed a ressurection, the gods forbid, the monsters will still linger.
Jaiden sits down in the grass, when he starts to notice a stench. He got up, looking under him, and sees a squashed insect. Jaiden's thoughts turned to his actions: Has he hurt anyone by doing what he thought was right? Is there any way to ensure that a man's actions only bring about good things, as Jaiden so aims to do?
Jaiden now stares off into the night sky.
